PITTSTON, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — Local police departments are asking for assistance in identifying a woman suspected of using counterfeit cash in separate incidents in Pittston Township and Wilkes-Barre Township.

According to Pittston Township Police, the woman used $550 in fake $50 bills to purchase items at an area business. In a similar case, Wilkes-Barre Township Police report that a woman matching the same description allegedly passed $500 in counterfeit $50 bills at the Walmart in the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace.

Images of the woman have been released as investigators work to confirm whether the incidents are connected.
