Wayne County Sheriff’s Office searching for wanted Scranton man, failed to appear in court

HONESDALE, WAYNE CO. (WOLF) — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Nelson Vazquez-Cardona, of Scranton, who is currently wanted after failing to appear for a scheduled court hearing.

Vazquez-Cardona is facing a series of charges stemming from a June 28, 2022, incident. According to court records, he is charged with:

Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance (First Offense)Careless Driving resulting in Serious Bodily InjuryDisregarding a Traffic LaneDriving with a Suspended or Revoked LicenseOperating an Unregistered VehicleOperating a Vehicle Without a Valid InspectionDriving Without Required Financial Responsibility

The sheriff’s office released a wanted notice asking anyone who may know Vazquez-Cardona’s whereabouts to come forward.
