Students in the autistic support classroom at Green Valley Elementary School got a special treat last week, as former NFL quarterback and Wilson High School alum Chad Henne paid them a visit.

The visit was arranged as part of teacher Laura Mattiuz’s work with Alvernia University’s Total Experience Learning graduate program.

Mattiuz transformed her classroom into a mock press conference, allowing her students to prepare and ask Henne questions about his football career. The experience gave the students an opportunity to practice communication skills, build confidence and interact with a community stakeholder.
