ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Theft and related charges have been withdrawn against a former Allentown police vice officer, according to the Lehigh County DA’s Office.
Jason Krasley was charged in January with theft by unlawful taking – movable property, receiving stolen property, and tampering with or fabricating evidence, officials say.
In a hearing that took place on Friday, all charges listed were withdrawn due to prosecutorial discretion, according to authorities.
The District Attorney’s Office has said that it will not comment further about the withdrawal of charges.
The charges stem from an investigation that revealed that Krasley allegedly stole $5,500 in cash while acting as an Allentown police vice officer, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan.

According to the grand jury presentment, Krasley was one of the officers who counted the seized money and was later inside the vice van where it was stored.
The presentment says back at APD, when the money was discovered missing, Krasley became argumentative with the other officers and left without submitting to a personal search.
The incident is also described in a whistle blower lawsuit filed by two veteran APD officers earlier this year.
That lawsuit contends that not only did Krasley and a handful of other officers steal drug money, but that some of them also had sex with prostitutes while on duty.
The whistle blowers say that after they told their supervisors about the alleged crimes, they faced retaliation. On Thursday, arbitration ruled that there was no retaliation.
