OBITUARY
MARIE L KASUBA (MLK), THE MATRIARCH OF HOME COOKING FAMILY GATHERINGS.
It is with unimaginable sadness and with the Heaviest of Hearts to inform all of you Marie L Kasuba 92, passed away peacefully December 5, 2025 at St. Mary’s Villa, Elmhurst, PA. Her husband of 64 years was the late George T. Kasuba who pass away in 2021.
Marie was the daughter of the late Angelo and Filomena Palmisano, Scranton, PA. She was one of 5 children; Marie was 1952 Graduate of Scranton Central High School and lead Majorette. Marie was a beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, loyal friend, homemaker, nurse and nanny for elite clientele; judges, attorney’s, doctors, lawmaker’s due to her outstanding moral character.
Marie was a humble non-material devoted catholic woman of faith, who gave to many charities. Marie was a talented cook and baker making everything from scratch and all kinds of delicious homemade Italian American, Polish cuisine – from Texas wieners to meatballs, pasta dishes, pierogies, stuffed cabbage. Italian bake goods – such as breads, desserts, pies and her special handmade ricotta cookies. Martin Luther King was notorious on how he would deliver a speech. Marie L Kasuba was the MLK of original home cooking and baking. Marie’s table was always open, and everyone left full.
Marie also enjoyed all kinds of sports, The Kentucky Derby, family picnics and outdoor activities. Her favorite one of sports was Penn State Football.
Marie could sew anything back to normal and love to watch the Catholic Mass on TV and pray along with her Rosary Beads in her hand. Marie, along with her son Donald and daughter Angela, were staunch supporters of the beloved late great United States Senator John Heinz of PA. After his passing Marie would always say there will never be another John Heinz a Lawmaker who truly cared about the common person and improving the lives of all Americans.
Marie’s surviving siblings are all trained professionals and highly regarded in their field of work. Special thanks to the entire staff and employees at St. Mary’s Villa Elmhurst, for their wonderful home family loving care. Her beloved nephew, Dr. Anthony Palmisano, a doctor who puts his patients first and all her kind and caring relatives and friends over the years.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband George T. Kasuba, daughter Angela M. Howard, Miss Scranton 1985. brothers Peter Palmisano, Angelo Palmisano, sister Florence Palmisano.
Survived by her sons Thomas A. Kasuba, Mr. Donald K. Kasuba DK Enterprises Philanthropy. Grandson:s Innovator Principal Security Engineer Lead AI Security Architect Kenneth John Kasuba, HI. Computer Scientist Shaun Michael Howard, AZ. Nephews Computer Scientist Nuclear Science Thomas Kasuba, MD. Dr. Anthony Palmisano, PA. and many other kind and caring nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends.
Advance arrangements were made with Miller Bean Funeral Home, Inc. Religious services and other perennial celebrations will be private and complimentary of Mr. Donald K. Kasuba DK Enterprises Philanthropy. In lieu of flowers charitable donations to St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital, Late Great United States Senator John Heinz History Center, Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers.
