Wegmans Tops List of Places to Work

Wegmans customers raised a record-breaking $3.1 million for hunger relief in fall 2025. The annual Check Out Hunger campaign ran from October 22 to November 29 across all 114 Wegmans stores. Shoppers donated at checkout, with every dollar going to local Feeding America food banks. This year’s total was $570,000 higher than 2024, making it the third-highest amount in the campaign’s 30-year history.

Wegmans customers in West Erie and Peach Street raised $83,418 for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.

Wegmans says the donations came at a critical time, as food banks faced increased demand due to a government shutdown and suspended SNAP benefits. Some stores saw remarkable contributions, like a $2,000 donation from one customer in Rochester and record-breaking totals in Syracuse and Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Since 1993, Wegmans’ campaign has raised over $58 million for hunger relief. The company also donates millions of pounds of food annually to local food banks and pantries.
