BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Bensalem shows up on the second episode of the A&E series “Murder at the Motel.”
The township’s former Battalion Chief Rob Sponheimer made an appearance on the show during the episode about a month ago.

Bensalem first responders were called to the Lincoln Inn Motel, where a room was found fully engulfed in flames. As crews worked to knock down the fire, they made a devastating discovery — a body burned beyond recognition in the debris.
“What first appeared to be a tragic accident quickly turned into something far more sinister as investigators uncovered critical evidence,” Bensalem Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. “Our commitment to public safety never wavers, and we remain dedicated to protecting our community every day.”
The crime took place on May 15, 2016. Sponheimer is interviewed in the episode about the case.
