A Taylor man was sentenced to life in prison for the 2023 murder of his girlfriend in Scranton

SCRANTON, Pa. — A Lackawanna County judge sentenced a Taylor man to life-in-prison for killing his girlfriend in Scranton two years ago.

The life-sentence handed down by Judge Michael J. Barrasse is mandatory in a first-degree murder case. He pleaded guilty in September.


Authorities said he brutally beat and killed Danielle Barbuti at a home on Luke Avenue in November 2023. She had severe head trauma and seemed have been violently attacked.

Brunson, 57, remained locked up Tuesday at the Lackawanna County Prison.
