CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Just in time for the holidays, Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development is offering free haircuts to the community through its “Haircuts for the Holidays” initiative.

Throughout the month of December, Western New Yorkers of all ages are invited to visit the Workforce Development Student Salon and Barbershop for a complimentary shampoo, haircut and style — all at no cost.

Organizers say the program is designed to ease financial stress during the holiday season while giving students hands-on experience serving the community.

“At Erie 1 BOCES, we understand that the holidays can be a financially stressful time for some,” said Melissa Kamyab, coordinator of the Salon and Spa Programs. “Our students are proud to give back by providing high-quality services that help our community feel confident heading into their holiday gatherings.”

All services are performed by students enrolled in salon and barbering programs and are supervised by experienced instructors.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling the student salon or barbershop directly.
