West Scranton sweeps rival Scranton; Scranton Prep’s Iannone sets pool record in win over Valley View – Scranton Times-Tribune

Roy Ayala and Jordan Ayala each won two individual events and also were on winning relay teams to lead West Scranton to a 119-38 victory over Scranton on Tuesday in a Lackawanna League boys’ swim meet.

Roy Ayala won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 freestyle, and Jordan Ayala won the 200 free and the 100 breaststroke. They also had wins as part of the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay for the Invaders (1-1).

Roman Camarillo added wins in the 100 butterfly and the 500 free, while joining the Ayala brothers as part of the two winning relay teams. Victor Ortiz (50 free) and Michael Davis (diving) had individual wins for West Scranton.

Mason Sumski won the 100 backstroke for Scranton.

Scranton Prep 111, Valley View 13: Lukas Iannone set a pool record at the University of Scranton in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:54.78. He beat the mark of 1:55.75, set by The United States Merchant Marine Academy’s Teague Mayer in 2024.

Iannone also won the 100 fly. David Lampman added wins in the 200 free and the 500 free, and Ben Kessler won the 100 free and the 100 breaststroke for the Cavaliers.

Isabella Stanton won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke, Janice Castro won the 100 fly, and Elle Brewster won diving to lead West Scranton to a 77-66 win over Scranton in a Lackawanna League meet.

Ava Labar won the 200 free and the 100 back, Sydney Whitman won the 100 free, Heido Dowd won the 500 free, and Emoni Hernandez won the 50 free for Scranton.
