ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Vice President J.D. Vance stated his case for the Trump administration’s handling of the economy during a stop in the Lehigh Valley.
The vice president first spoke at Uline in Lower Macungie Township.
Before departing our area, Vance made a stop at the Allentown Rescue Mission, an organization that helps men experiencing homelessness.
There, the vice president and his wife, Usha, served meals to guests and spent some time learning about how the mission helps the community.
“So they fed the men, they spoke with the men actually somewhat, and then when they were done with that, J.D. and his wife went upstairs and had a long lunch with just four of our clients in our library… they must have been up there about a half an hour, so they had a very in-depth conversation,” says Skip Smith, CEO of Allentown Rescue Mission.
Usha and J.D. Vance also spent some time learning about the mission’s books to the rescue program, which helps promote literacy by getting books into the hands of kids from local school districts.
