Chrissy Jacklinski scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter as No. 10 Scranton defeated Wyoming Valley West, 55-21, on Tuesday to earn its first win of the season in a nonleague girls basketball game.

Jaelyn Alers added 17 points, and sophomore Rhylee Bell finished with 12 points for the Lady Knights (1-4).

Thalia Irizarry had six points for Wyoming Valley West.

Montrose 45, Old Forge 36: At Old Forge, Sadie Jones pumped in 27 points to power Montrose to its first win of the season in a nonleague matchup against the Lady Blue Devils.

Jones had 14 of her her points in the first half, including nine in a decisive second quarter when the Lady Meteors (1-4) extended a one-point lead after one to 23-14 at halftime.

Lana Clements led Old Forge (2-2) with 16 points, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Delaware Valley 54, Mountain View 41: At Mountain View, Amanda Argona scored 19 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, to lead the seventh-ranked Lady Warriors past No. 6 Mountain View in a nonleague game.

Leah Bird scored 10 of her 16 points in the third quarter for undefeated Delaware Valley (5-0).

Addison Kilmer scored 21 points and Aubrey Sanders added 17 points for the Lady Eagles (3-4).

Lakeland 36, Forest City 31: At Lakeland, Naomi Rude made four 3-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Lady Chiefs to a nonleague win.

Reina Walters added eight points and Olivia Cunningham had six points for Lakeland (3-2).

Marlo Urbas scored 10 points to lead Forest City (0-4).

Holy Cross 61, Blue Ridge 38: At Holy Cross, Ava Schmidt scored 15 points to lead the host Lady Crusaders to a nonleague victory over Blue Ridge.

Schmidt scored eight of her points in the first quarter when Holy Cross jumped out to a 22-4 lead. Lila Kolcharno and Mollie Urban added five points apiece in the quarter.

Aniya Osgood chipped in 12 points and Urban finished with 10 for the Lady Crusaders (3-2).

Abigail Gallagher tossed in a game-high 25 points for Blue Ridge (2-3).

Boys basketball

Cael Hafner scored 14 points, including eight in the second quarter, and Cole West scored 10 points and collected 19 rebounds to lead host North Pocono to a 54-48 win over Honesdale in a nonleague game.

Anthony Maros scored six of his 11 points and Connor Ruddy made five free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Trojans (2-3).

Levi Martin scored eight of his 18 points in the first quarter. Gavin Briggs added 12 points for Honesdale (3-3).

Valley View 71, Wyoming Valley West 41: At Valley View, Jagger Roe scored 19 points, including eight in the first quarter when the second-ranked Cougars raced to a 22-7 lead in a nonleague win.

Cash Roe scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds, Michael Muto scored 11 points, and Noah Symuleski had 10 for Valley View (5-0).

AJ Hickson scored 12 points, and Zach Mondesir added 10 for Wyoming Valley West (0-6).

Old Forge 68, Carbondale Area 49: At Carbondale Area, Cameron Parker scored 13 points in the first quarter and finished with 17 points and five steals to lead the eighth-ranked Blue Devils to a nonleague victory.

Logan Fanning added 13 points and 10 rebounds, Robby Solfanelli drilled four 3-pointers for 12 points, and Ryan DeMarco and Cam Krushnowski each had five assists for Old Forge (3-2).

Cole Becchetti scored 14 points and Francisco Roman added 11, and the duo combined for seven 3-pointers to lead Carbondale Area (1-5).

Wallenpaupack 57, Forest City 35: At Wallenpaupack, Diego Adames scored 12 points to lead three players scoring in double figures to lead the Buckhorns to a nonleague win.

It is Kevin Miller’s first career coaching victory.

JP Yeo added 11 points and Landon Shanaberger scored 10 for Wallenpaupack (1-2).

Jayden Carter scored 11 points to pace Forest City (0-6).

Tunkhannock 52, Western Wayne 34: At Tunkhannock, the Tigers outscored Western Wayne, 29-15, in the middle quarters to pull away for the nonleague win.

Bode Lukasavage netted 19 for Tunkhannock, while Luke Chilson hit four 3-pointers for 12 points.

For Western Wayne, Xavier James scored 15 to pace the Wildcats.
