Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection to a shooting in Norristown that killed a 19-year-old back in November, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 o the 1000 block of Powell Street, police said.
When officers got to the scene, they found 19-year-old Hamid Boyd suffering from gunshot wounds and took him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Investigators were able to find surveillance video that captured three men getting into a white sedan and driving away right after the shooting happened, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele explained.
The three suspects were identified by law enforcement officials as Mark Fields, 18, a 17-year-old and 20-year-old Ziyker Washington, officials said.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Fields, the 17-year-old and Washington are part of the gang known as “1200” while Boyd is a member of the rival “The Ave” gang.
Just two days before Boyd was shot and killed, Washington is accused of posting a photo onto his social media account that showed him holding with the 17-year-old and Fields behind him with the words “MAN F*** DA AVE” on it.
Then, once Boyd was shot, Washington allegedly took down his social media account.
Fields was arrested on Dec. 12 and charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and other related charges, according to the DA’s Office. He is being held without bail at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Officials reported that the 17-year-old was then arrested on Dec. 16 in Newark, New Jersey, on murder and other related charges. He will be extradited to Montgomery County.

The third suspect, Washington, is still wanted by officials and an arrest warrant was issued for him on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and other related charges.
Washington is described as standing five-feet-eight-inches with brown eyes and black hair while weighing about 160 pounds, officials said.
