The cause of a fire at the West Side Hotel on Dec. 10 is still under investigation, according to Scranton Fire Chief John Judge.
Firefighters were called to the landmark at 129 S. Main Ave., at about 2 a.m. and remained into the afternoon to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
The fire displaced 26 residents and destroyed the three-story building, which has a bar on the first floor — Kilcoyne’s Bar — and rooming houses above it, Judge said following the fire.
The Red Cross assisted the displaced residents.
