A Philadelphia woman was arrested early Saturday morning after she was caught driving the wrong way on I-295, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.
Troopers from the Trevose barracks were alerted at approximately 2:15 a.m. to reports of a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
The vehicle was reported driving the wrong way on the highway in Middletown Township, near the Bristol Township line.

Officers from the Middletown Township Police Department also received the call and responded to the scene.
Middletown Township officers were able to safely stop the vehicle on the interstate, state police said.

Following the stop, state police determined the driver, a 49-year-old woman from the city, was under the influence of alcohol.
The woman was taken into custody, and state police said charges of driving under the influence will be filed.

No crashes or injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
