ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown School District kicked off their elementary school athletic program on Wednesday!

Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan was in attendance.

His office took drug asset forfeiture money that had been taken from the community — and they decided to invest it back into the community.

One of the ways they did that was funding this new athletic program!

“These kids are the future, they’re Allentown’s future. We want them to know that they matter to us, that we care about them. We want them to be successful, safe, smart and have fun doing it,” said Holihan.

There is also expected to be a soccer league starting in the spring.
