PHILADELPHIA – Investigators say a man was shot and killed after an argument on a SEPTA platform underneath Philadelphia City Hall on Friday morning.
What we know:
Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to the City Hall Station at 7:25 a.m. for reports of a shooting at 15th and Market streets.
Upon arrival, officers found a 27-year-old man in the underground train station suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.Â
SEPTA Police rushed the victim to Jefferson Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 10:43 a.m.
Police say a 27-year-old male suspect turned himself in to police, along with a firearm.Â
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Police sources believe the shooting happened during an argument between both men on the southbound platform.
What we don’t know:
The identity of the victim and suspected shooter have not yet been released by police.
