Erie County GOP Chairman Tom Eddy resigns

Erie County GOP has new leadership as of Thursday.

Tom Eddy has stepped down from the role of Erie County Republican chairman, effective immediately.

Cliff Smathers from North East has now assumed the chairmanship, replacing Eddy, who has held the position since 2022.

When speaking to us this evening, Eddy explained that personal family matters have left him too busy to be effective in the role.
