ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Customers in the Lehigh Valley are experiencing power outages and downed trees Friday, amid gusty winds.
More than 1,000 customers were without power in Lehigh County, while more than 1,000 customers were without power, according to PPL.
In Schuylkill County, more than 1,000 customers experienced power outages.
A Wind Advisory will be in place Friday morning for shifting wind gusts near 40-50 mph. With the wet ground, this may result in some downed trees or power outages.
In an X post Friday morning, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky advised people to drive carefully. Troopers responded to trees blocking the road throughout the area, including on South 5 Street in Upper Milford Township in Lehigh County, Branosky said.
There was a downed tree on Route 22 westbound at the Route 33 North-Stroudsburg exit, according to 511pa.com. There was a ramp restriction.
Rain in our area will subside by midday Friday which could result in some minor urban/roadway flooding.

Wind chills will be in the 20s and teens later Friday, possibly dropping to the single digits Friday night.
