ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A person is dead, and two others are hurt, after a shooting at a shopping center in Allentown early Friday morning.
Officers responded to the center at the 1300 block of Hanover Avenue for a reported shooting around 1:30 a.m., according to a news release from the Allentown Police Department.
Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds, city police said.
Allentown police said initial information revealed that a fight precipitated the shooting.
Officers gave first aid to the victims, who were then taken to an area hospital for treatment.
One victim later died, while the other victim is expected to survive his injuries, according to the news release. A short while later, an additional victim from the shooting arrived at a nearby hospital and is being treated, city police said.
He is expected to survive.
Police said the investigation is active and on-going, and there is no danger to the community at this time.
The Allentown Police, Lehigh County DA’s Office, Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
