Man struck, killed by hit-and-run-driver in Philadelphia's Cobbs Creek neighborhood

Philadelphia police say a man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the city’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood.

It happened just after midnight on Friday on the 100 block of South Cobbs Creek Parkway, near Walnut Street.

Investigators say a 50-year-old man who appeared to be under the influence was seated in the middle of the roadway.

The victim was then struck by a white sedan with a sunroof as he was attempting to stand up.

He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he later died.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call police at 215-685-3181 or submit an anonymous tip at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

The incident remains under investigation.
