SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — PennDOT has announced the opening of the Green Ridge Street Bridge in Lackawanna County.
Officials announced the opening of the newly constructed bridge on Route 6011 in Scranton on Friday.
The project started in 2024 with the installation of a temporary bridge, which allowed traffic to cross over the Lackawanna River while the new bridge was built.
Officials said work will continue through 2026 as the temporary bridge is removed and new curbs, sidewalks, drainage systems and traffic signals are installed on the north side of the road.
The project is estimated to be completed in the fall of 2026.
