ALLENTOWN, Pa. – There are currently over 60,000 customers throughout Pennsylvania without power due to gusty winds affecting our area.
Our region is under a Wind Advisory until 1 a.m. on Saturday, affecting portions of central and northern Delaware, northeast Maryland, central, northern, northwest, and southern New Jersey, and east central and southeast Pennsylvania.
The strongest winds are expected to occur during the second half of the afternoon into the early evening.
More than 9,700 customers are without power in Lehigh County as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, while more than 2,2000 customers are without power in Northampton County, according to PPL.
In Schuylkill County, more than 2,700 customers are experiencing power outages.

In an X post Friday morning, Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Nathan Branosky advised people to drive carefully. Troopers responded to trees blocking the road throughout the area, including on South 5 Street in Upper Milford Township in Lehigh County, Branosky said.
Part of East Rock Road in Salisbury Township was closed Friday.
