MOSCOW, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Slingshots Bar and Grill is getting into the holiday spirit with its own holiday-themed pop-up bar, Jingle Christmas.

Located in the heart of Moscow, Slingshots (formerly Doc’s) is a neighborhood bar that has been a community staple since the 1800s.

Mike Gallacher, the restaurant’s new owner, has been with the tavern for about three years and says Jingle Christmas is their first-ever pop-up bar.

Gallacher says the idea came from bar manager Ashley Williams, who suggested it in October.

Although he was unfamiliar with pop-ups, Gallacher was excited to transform the space into a winter wonderland.

“We’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now, and people are loving it. Everybody’s coming in, saying it gets them in the Christmas spirit. They feel nice, happy, and Christmasy when they’re here. That was the atmosphere we were trying to create, like you were inside Christmas. You know, when you came in, you just couldn’t help but feel happy,” said Gallacher.

From the mistletoe archway at the entrance to the pool table transformed into a miniature Christmas village, the entire Moscow restaurant is brimming with holiday cheer and merry displays ripe for photo opportunities.

Slingshots is serving up limited-time holiday martinis, cocktails, and brews, with standout drinks like the Candy Cane, Little Debbie Christmas Tree-tini, Mistletoe Mule, and Sugar Cookie Espresso Martini.

Guests will also discover plenty of festive drinks on both sides of the bar’s naughty-and-nice menu.

Slingshots is open seven days a week, offering joyful holiday activities throughout the season, including themed trivia nights, live music, occasional visits from Santa Claus, an ugly sweater contest, and a decorating party happening Tuesday.

Gallacher adds that he is looking forward to bringing more pop-up bar experiences to the Moscow community throughout the year for occasions like St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween.

Jingle Christmas is open through January 10.
