A Montgomery County woman is hoping to thank an anonymous couple who chose her family to receive an unexpected gift of kindness.
On Wednesday morning, Aaron Williams-Higgins was coming back from a walk with her dog when the front desk receptionist at her apartment building told her someone left a card for an active military family.
“It was just a super generous act of kindness,” she said.
Inside the card was an encouraging message thanking Williams-Higgins’ family for their service and $500 in cash.
Williams-Higgins told NBC10 that she can’t get over the idea that someone chose her and her husband, who is an active military member, for this random act of kindness.
She explained to NBC10 that the couple has no idea what the government shutdown will mean for them financially.
So, with this cash gift, Williams-Higgins and her husband plan to pay it forward using some of the money to buy books for children who would otherwise not have them.
“I just want to thank them, so much, and maybe inspire someone else to pay it forward,” Williams-Higgins said. “I feel that your act of kindness was a rare occurrence in such a dark world sometimes.”
