SOME OF THE HOLIDAY TRAVELERS STOPPED TO CHAT TO ANSWER THAT ALL IMPORTANT QUESTION. WHERE ARE YOU FLYING TO FOR CHRISTMAS? GOING TO RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA TO VISIT FAMILY. MY GRANDSON, HE’S HE’S A YEAR OLD FROM GREENSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA TO SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO, SANTA FE FOR CHRISTMAS. CHRISTMAS, CORRECT. Y OUR DAUGHTER AND SON IN LAW WANTED TO GO THERE, AND THEY ASKED US TO JOIN THEM. IS IT GOING TO FEEL WEIRD IN SANTA FE? I THINK SO, KIND OF DOESN’T FEEL IT FEELS WEIRD NOW. WE CAME INTO PITTSBURGH, WHICH IS WHERE I’M FROM, TO VISIT MY MOM AND MY SISTERS AND MY NIECES AND NEPHEWS. SO WE CAME IN, HAD AN EARLY CHRISTMAS, AND NOW WE’RE GOING TO GET BACK TO CHICAGO BEFORE THE RUSH. SO WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS NEW AIRPORT? IT’S GORGEOUS. IT’S BEEN OPEN FOR ONLY FIVE WEEKS. SO MANY OF THESE TRAVELERS ARE WALKING THROUGH THE NEW TERMINAL FOR THE FIRST TIME. IT’S GREAT. I LOVE THE SPACE OPEN SPACE CONCEPT OF NATURAL LIGHT. IT’S JUST AMAZING, I LOVE IT, THAT’S WHY I CAME EARLY SO I COULD LOOK AROUND AND TAKE IT IN. I’M RETIRED CONSTRUCTION GUY, SO I’VE BEEN WATCHING FOLLOWING THE PROGRESS, AND I WANTED TO HAVE SOME TIME TO WALK AROUND AND INVESTIGATE. TAKE A LOOK. IT’S BEAUTIFUL. Holiday travelers embark on journey through Pittsburgh airport’s new terminal

An expected record number of travelers is expected to walk through the new airport terminal for Christmas and New Year’s this year, based on data from the Allegheny County Airport Authority.Many of the travelers leaving and arriving in Pittsburgh are seeing the new terminal for the first time.”I came early, so I could look around and take it in,” said Derek Hall, while on his way to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. “I’m a retired construction guy, so I’ve been watching and following the progress, and I wanted to have some time, walk around, and investigate. It’s beautiful.”Chiu-Ching Lee dropped off her husband for a flight to Taiwan, but took time to take in the aesthetics of the new terminal, and left feeling impressed.”It’s great. I love the space, open space, natural light, amazing. I just love it,” she said.
