BETHLEHEM, Pa. (WPVI) — A former Bethlehem police officer was sentenced Monday after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a middle school student.
Costas Alestas will spend 10 to 20 years in state prison.
Alestas was assigned as a school resource officer at East Hills Middle School when police began investigating in 2024.
The sex assaults of the 14-year-old girl took place on and off school grounds, investigators said.
They also found inappropriate videos of an 11-year-old student, taken without her knowledge, on Alestas’ cell phone.
