An Illinois-based candy company is expanding its recall of a holiday bark product, primarily sold at Aldi grocery stores, due to potential undeclared wheat and pecan allergen.Â
Silvestri Sweets Inc. lists its Choceur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark and its Choceur Cookie Butter Holiday Bark in its recall, according to a news release by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recall, which was made on Dec. 22, was voluntarily done by the company after it was found that the products might have undeclared wheat and pecans, posing risks for those sensitive to the allergens, the release states.Â
This comes as the company issued a recall on Nov. 26 for the same products.Â
The company states people with these allergies could run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction.Â
The recall was issued nationwide to all Aldi stores and customers are encouraged to discard or return the products for a full refund.Â
