A Delaware County woman is facing potential homicide charges after police said she stabbed her daughter to death in their home.
The incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at a residence along the 200 block of South Bishop Avenue in Upper Darby Township, according to 6ABC.
Upon arrival, police found the body of a 23-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds.
Police said that the victim’s father came home after working an overnight shift and discovered her body. He called 911 but police said she was already deceased.
The mother, who the father said he found at the scene covered in blood, was taken to a hospital, where she is being evaluated. It is expected that she will be facing homicide charges, 6ABC said.
The family’s dog was also injured with several stab wounds and was taken to a veterinarian.
Police said they do not yet have a motive for the killing. No names have been released yet.
