EASTON, Pa. – There’s a lot of banging going on inside a North 11th Street Easton home.

“We’re calling it the Christmas miracle,” said Christopher Yarnell, President of Battle Borne.

A miracle, because it’s free.

“This is our third feel the love installation in the last 15 months,” said Jennifer Burkhardt, Director of Business Development for Comfort Generation in Emmaus.

In partnership with Lennox, Comfort Generation donated a new heating system in this home because it serves veterans.

“It’s called the Barracks, and the program that we operate here is called Mission Transition,” said Yarnell.

Yarnell is the President of Battle Borne, the nonprofit that runs the home.

Three veterans live here, including Lain Murray.

He served in the army and until recently, was unhoused.

“It’s, it’s a life changer. I mean, it’s, you know, if it wasn’t for here, like I said, I’d probably be, I don’t know where I’d be,” said Murray.

Since moving into the Barracks, Lain has gotten a good job and Battle Borne is helping him connect with the services he needs.

“Trying to find a place of my own, you know, to get established in life again, to become, you know, a contributing member again to society,” said Murray.

And having complete strangers wearing Santa hats come to your house to make sure you are warm for the winter is just the kind of thing Lain says will keep him reaching for his goals.

“I’m very grateful to be here,” said Murray.
