Joseph J. Kishel, II
OBITUARY
Joseph J. Kishel II, 55, a lifelong resident of Spring Brook Twp, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Joseph J. and Doreen (Korisher) Kishel of Spring Brook Twp. Joe was a 1988 graduate of North Pocono High School and attended Vo-Tech. He owned and operated Garage Doors by Joe Kishel, serving customers throughout the whole Northeastern PA region.
His passion for his career was evident in everything he did. He was always willing to help someone in need and generously gave back to his community. A devoted sports fan, he loved cheering on his favorite teams – the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Dallas Cowboys. One of his greatest passions was cars, especially his treasured Shelby Mustang. He often joked with family and friends, saying, ‘Drive fast and take chances’. His friends meant the world to him, and their advice, long phone conversations, companionship, laughter, and loyalty brought him immense joy throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Joe is survived by his life partner, Judy Janosov of Spring Brook Twp.; his two sisters: Tracey Kishel of Spring Brook Twp. and Heather Kishel-Schield and her husband David of Elmhurst Twp.
Joe’s family will honor his life and legacy privately. His services are entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC in Spring Brook Twp.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joe’s name to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. To share your fondest memories, please visit the funeral home’s website or Facebook page.
