BETHLEHEM – First Selectman Raymond Butkus provided the Board of Selectman with a brief update on various projects during the board’s meeting last Tuesday.
First, Mr. Butkus mentioned that Memorial Hall was opened up as a warming center from noon on Sunday, December 14, until noon on Monday, December 15, should any residents be having any problems staying warm during the cold weather. He said that fortunately no one needed this service.
Mr. Butkus said the firehouse roof project was scheduled to begin last Friday, weather permitting, and there will be a meeting this week with SLR Engineering to review the timeline of funding for the Flanders Rd. reconstruction project.
The board appointed Christopher Gallo to the LOSAP Committee for a two-year term to expire December 2027 and Eric Nelson to fill a vacancy as an Alternate Inland Wetland Agency for a term to expire November 17, 2026.
The board voted to approve the revised Auto Repair Shop Application, and then approved the Auto Repair Shop Application for Litchfield County Marine and Auto LLC with the conditions of the applicant bringing in a site plan and having the building official sign off on the original application. The board stressed to the applicant that if the conditions specified on the application change, a new application will be required.
Finally, the board entered into Executive Session for what was termed “legal and personal matters.” No action or discussion was taken following the session.
