Road closed after sinkhole opens up in Allentown | Allentown Area

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Police in Allentown are advising drivers to avoid a road after a sinkhole opened up Wednesday.

The sinkhole appeared at the 800 block of North Muhlenberg Street, according to a Facebook post from the Allentown Police Department.

Police said the roadway is closed from Washington Street to Greenleaf Street for an extended period.

People are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Police said they will provide updates when they are available.
