A man and a woman were found dead in a Mount Penn residence Tuesday afternoon, according to the Berks County coroner’s office.

There was no indication either of the deaths was suspicious, Chief Deputy Coroner George Holmes said Wednesday. The coroner’s office withheld their names pending further investigation.

No decision had been made whether to order autopsies, Holmes said.

Central Berks Regional police responded to the scene shortly before 1 p.m. They requested the fire services check carbon monoxide levels in the home but instruments recorded normal levels.

Police are investigating but did not provide further information.
