Keeping things nice and tranquil for Christmas Eve. No precipitation expected through the evening for any family gatherings and even Midnight Mass services should be dry and chilly. Will get a quick hit of sleet or some flakes of snow late tonight, but it will be out by daybreak Christmas, and no problems expected with it. Christmas Day looking nice and tranquil with some clouds and highs approaching 40 degrees

Things change Friday. Approaching low pressure will spread some freezing mix late morning Friday. Unfortunately, the temperatures will be slow to warm up, and this freezing mix may last through much of the afternoon and evening on Friday. Hence, we have a Weather Aware for Friday for now. Freezing rain events are fickle, and we will watch this situation closely through Christmas Day

Weather looking okay for the upcoming weekend. Keeping it tranquil Saturday, with mainly rain on Sunday before we plunge back into winter cold early next week along with some lake effect snow bands.
