Hubert Cioccio, age 84, of Erie passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at Forestview. He was born June 23,1941 in Erie, the son of the late Danatontonio and Louisa (Clemente) Cioccio.
Hubert was a graduate of East High School where he was on the football team and was named All-City Guard. He received a Bachelor degree from the University of Akron and received his Masters from Gannon College. He was a member of the Phi-Sigma Kappa fraternity. He had worked in the budget and accounting department at Erie’s General Electric and later with the State of PA in the same capacity at the Cambridge Springs prison until his retirement. Hubert belonged to several clubs in town including the Siebenbueger club, the Zukor club, the Nuova Aurora club and the American Legion, Post 771. At the Legion, he was an officer for many years and was very active in their activities. He was honored to be involved placing American flags on veterans graves each year for Memorial Day. Hubert and his late wife Mary Jean also loved to travel and cruise. They enjoyed their stays and many friends in Clearwater, FL and had also traveled to Italy and Ireland.
Besides his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jean (Garvey) Cioccio who died in 2014; his Brother, Louis Cioccio; and cousins, Louis D. Cioccio and Linda Gidos.
He is survived by his cousins, James Cioccio of Albuquerque; Kathy Cioccio, Julia Cioccio, Christopher Cioccio (Patti) of Erie, and several nieces and nephews. Hubert also had many close, life-long friends including Pete Pentz (Judy), Tom Smith (Barbara), Ron McAvoy (Ellen) and Sandy Caldwell (Don).
Friends are invited to call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 W.10th St. on Monday, December 29th from 11 AM to 1 PM at which time a Prayer Service will be held. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum.
