Each year, one of the firefighters grows and harvests huge pumpkins and brings them to the station.

A local artist spent nearly eight hours carving and painting the pumpkin.
Firefighters actually said that this is not the largest pumpkin in the history of their tradition, although it weighs close to 800 pounds.

Darin Beckes, captain at the firehouse, said, “He had to load it at his house, but he used a tractor and slings, put it on a trailer, and then took four guys, they pulled it off, they didn’t carry it. But they pulled it off the trailer and placed it here.”
Beckes said that people in the neighborhood also enjoy participating in this tradition, often stopping to snag a photo with the carved pumpkin.
