An Erie man accused of threatening to shoot others at the Crawford County Mental Health Awareness Program (CHAPS) in an incident earlier this month will head to trial after waiving his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Samuel Pendolino on Wednesday.

James Lawrence Furchess, 39, was allegedly “threatening to shoot everyone” inside the CHAPS offices at 944 Liberty St. at approximately 11:15 a.m. Dec. 9, according to the probable cause affidavit filed by Meadville Police Department.
