SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. – The elves on the shelves have all gone back to the North Pole but not before having a great time at an elementary school in Lehigh County.

He’s usually known as Mr. O’Brien but last week he was just Mr. Elf.

Joe O’Brien has worked at Schnecksville Elementary for 25 years. He’s the school’s physical education teacher and he was spreading lots of Christmas joy as the school’s very own Elf on a Shelf.

Two Kindergarten teachers- Marissa Janicki and Meg Kennedy thought the students at Schnecksville woud get a kick out of it but they had to find a willing participant and that’s where Joe comes in.

Every day, he donned this elf attire and got into lots of shenanigans around school, in the yard and in the classrooms.

The teachers say this time of year can be chaotic and busy so this was a fun way to send the students off to winter break.

Joe joins a growing community of elves. There are more than 30 million elves on shelves out there in the world.
