A homicide investigation is underway after officials said a 22-year-old woman was found shot to death inside a home in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, a woman, who they identified as a Jane Doe, was pronounced dead at her home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, just after 6 a.m. on the 700 block of W. Turner Street.
Officials stated that the incident occurred around 4:15 a.m. She was found with gunshot injuries.
The coroner’s office, the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are conducting an investigation into this incident, officials said.
Officials said an autopsy is expected to be performed on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
According to the Allentown Police Department, after an investigation, Adam Makowka, 27, of South Whitehall, was found to be the suspect in this incident.
Police said Makowka was taken into custody without incident and is facing several charges, including criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and two counts of aggravated assault.
