Mother’s Bar and Grille, a Downtown Easton fixture for more than three decades, will close permanently at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

The bar at 3 Lehns Court off Centre Square announced the closure on its Facebook page.

“Saying goodbye is hard to do. We have difficult news to share as we approach the end of the year,” the post stated. “We will be closing our doors for the last time at midnight on New Year’s Eve.”

The announcement thanked staff and patrons for their support over the years.

“We want to thank all of our staff and our patrons who have been with us … The memories and friendships we made over the years will last forever. We’re gonna miss you all. Come hang out and share memories with us for our last weekend.”

Owners Philip, Joseph, and Michael Simonetta, three brothers who have operated the establishment since acquiring it more than 15 years ago, recently expanded their Downtown Easton presence. In June 2025, the trio purchased another local institution, the neighboring Pearly Baker’s Ale House.

The bar gained a measure of fame beyond the Lehigh Valley when it served as the exterior of the Florentine bar in the 1997 film “The Florentine.” The movie was shot over five weeks in the region, with most scenes filmed in Bethlehem and Easton. Mount Vernon was used for interior shots.
