Those in Berks County experienced icy conditions after Friday night’s storm.
Crews were out early on Saturday morning to clear off all that fell overnight.
Snow, slush and ice made things messy for those trying to get around.
Crews say the hardest part was the thick layer of ice that froze on the roads and sidewalks.
“It’s like you need an ice pick out here. They shoulda put some salt down. It’s easy to put salt down. It melts everything down, it just becomes slush after that. But it takes awhile, it’s pretty thick,” one resident said.
Crews say they’ll keep working to clean off the roads throughout the weekend so Monday’s commute isn’t too challenging.
