St. Adalbert’s Polish National Catholic Church was the setting Dec. 7, 2024, for the wedding of Nicole Hughes and Steven Joseph Kropa, both of Dickson City.
The bride is the daughter of Susan and Brian Hughes, Olyphant. The bridegroom is the son of Kerri and Jeff Moore, Olyphant, and Steven and Jenn Kropa, Archbald.
The Very Rev. William Chromey officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony.
Rachel Wollyung, Pottsville, and Vienna Cook, Old Forge, were co-matrons of honor. Marissa Lewis, South Abington Twp., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alison Maiello, Drums; Megan Kalinowski, Dickson City; Brittany Smith, Wyalusing; Shyann Barrett, Danville; Kara Hirjak, Conway, South Carolina, cousin of the bride; Erika Hartshorn, Throop, cousin of the bride; and Samantha Kropa, St. Robert, Missouri, sister of the bridegroom.
Tyler Collins, Archbald, was best man. Ushers were Alexander Demian, Olyphant; Ryan Dolan, Jessup; Ed Kalinowski, Dickson City; Jeff Jordan, Olyphant; Quinn Tomcho, Olyphant; Zach Holod, Jessup; and Bryan Hughes, Throop, brother of the bride.
A reception was held at the Banks Waterfront.
The bride is a graduate of Mid Valley High School, Throop. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University. She is an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist in the Geisinger Dermatology Clinic in Scranton and a residency program director.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Mid Valley High School, Throop. He completed an apprenticeship and works as a pipefitter with the United Association Local Union 524 in Scranton.
The couple originally met in high school, graduating from the class of 2014, and reconnected years later though mutual friends.
The couple, who took a wedding trip to Greece and Italy, resides in Dickson City.
