OLYPHANT, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Crews are responding to a water main break in Olyphant that may be affecting water service and traffic in parts of the borough.
According to PA American Water, the utility is investigating a service issue that could cause low water pressure or temporary outages for some customers. The problem was reported Sunday morning, and crews were dispatched to the area shortly after.
In a social media post, Olyphant Police confirmed a water main break near the intersection of Beech Street and Spruce Street. Police say PA American Water crews are en route and are asking drivers to use caution while traveling through the area as emergency work gets underway.
Officials have not released an estimated number of customers impacted, but residents are encouraged to check the Customer Advisory Map on PA American Water’s website for updates as repairs continue.
