EASTON, Pa. – Two popular grocery stores teamed up with a local nonprofit on Sunday to make sure others don’t go hungry.

Fresh produce, baked goods and more were handed out at the Boys and Girls Club of Easton.

ShopRite and Wegmans donated items for the event.

The Boys and Girls Club of Easton’s executive director says there is a lot of need in the community and they will keep doing the giveaway until that need is met.

“What makes me proud is that the folks who are coming here understand what we’re doing,” said Dean Young, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club. “It’s about community, it’s about sharing, it’s about caring, it’s about making sure that we’re dividing the food amongst those who need it most.”

Young says the club has been doing the giveaway since 2020.
