BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Northampton County District Attorney’s Office says it’s actively investigating a shooting outside a Bethlehem McDonald’s.

This happened Saturday evening on the 400 block of Wyandotte Street just before 6 p.m. Kevin Bernal was in his apartment across the street.

“I had my window cracked because it was, you know, hot. So I heard the pow,” recalled Bernal.

Jarret Berg was home as well. He said he was scared to leave his home.

“The shots started going off, and I was about to walk my dog. I stayed inside for the rest of the night. I’m not about to put myself in no situation like that,” said Berg.

Berg said he’s just thankful he and his neighbors weren’t hurt.

“That’s right across the street from my house. Bullets don’t have no names. It could have came through the wall. My bedroom is in the front of my house,” said Berg.

Bernal said, when he looked out the window, it was clear someone was hurt.

“There was a red car right there. He got stuck, he got shot right in the car,” said Bernal.

Bethlehem Police told us that victim was taken to the hospital and had to undergo surgery. Bernal said, unfortunately, it’s not the first time he’s heard gunshots in this area.

“In the back neighborhood right here, it’s kind of normal to hear like gunshots,” said Bernal.

At this time, we know the victim is still alive, and police told us the suspects were likely known by the victim, but the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office said this is still an active investigation, so they’re not releasing the suspects’ or the victim’s identities at this time.
