The National Weather Service warned of “strong to damaging winds” sweeping in off Lake Erie on December 29, advising people to secure holiday decorations and prepare for power cuts.
Daniel Pollina recorded this footage of the stormy conditions in Hamburg, New York.
He said winds had the force of a hurricane.
“I expected strong winds and high waves, but this was intense,” he told Storyful. “The parking lot was littered with debris and was also being flooded a bit. Houses along the lake shore were probably having an even more difficult time with this.” Credit: Daniel Pollina via Storyful
