Joseph Edward Bruckner
OBITUARY
Joseph Edward Bruckner of Moscow, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 28, 2025, with his wife by his side. He was 78 years old.
Joe was warm, generous, and young at heart. Fun-loving and personable, he was well liked wherever he went. He shared 38 loving years of marriage with his wife, Ellen Marie Bruckner.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Bruckner, and by his son, Monir Woods Bruckner. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; his sister Bernadette Kuebler and her husband Gerard; his sister Mary Dugan and her husband William; his daughter Rachel Burkholder and her husband Jonathan; his grandchildren, Clara and Nicholas Burkholder; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Born on December 1, 1947, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Joe grew up there and attended Central Catholic and Dieruff High Schools.
In June 1965, Joe volunteered for service in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam from December 1965 to December 1966 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.
Joe attended Lehigh County Community College and became a physical therapist assistant, a career he loved and pursued for 34 years. He worked at several physical therapy facilities, including Allied Services Rehab Center, St. Joseph’s Center, and Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home. Joe had a special affinity for the geriatric population. He was exceptionally good with his patients, and they adored him in return. He retired in 2020.
A capable handyman, Joe worked alongside Ellen restoring homes and apartment buildings in Moscow and took on ambitious home improvement projects at their own home. In retirement, he enjoyed making his own wine, and throughout his life he loved live music.
A Memorial service will be conducted Saturday January 3, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church Street Moscow, PA with military honors to be conducted following the service. Friends may call Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
