OBITUARY

Robert H. Everett, 87, of Kingsley, died Tuesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Verna (Jones) Everett.

Born June 16, 1938 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Andrew and Helen (Banashek) Everett.

Robert was a graduate of Harford High School and joined the U.S. Air Force for 4 years where he was a weapons mechanic. He then worked and retired from Chamberlain Corporation, Scranton.

His greatest joy was his ten-acre orchard, which he planted with heirloom apple varieties as well as a wide range of fruit trees and gardens. He enjoyed classical music, building and inventing things and following the news every day. Robert was blessed to enjoy a long, active retirement working on the land he loved.

Robert attended St. John Vianney Parish, Royal, and enjoyed his time spent with his family.

He is also survived by four children: Robert J. Everett and wife, Nora of Broomall, Sarah Everett of Erie, Stephanie Everett of Kingsley and Andrew Everett of Kingsley; three grandchildren: Olivia, Catherine and Robert Everett; two sisters: Carol Sokolowsky and Regina Bennedetto; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Arlene Everett; son: Richard Everett; and three brothers: Andrew, Edward and Leonard Everett.

A blessing service along with military honors will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford. Spring interment, Welsh Hill Cemetery, Union Dale.

A viewing will held Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
