Acquired along with Evan Sisk from the Kansas City Royals for Bailey Falter, Callan Moss signed as an undrafted free agent from a DII school after spending one year at Seton Hall.

In his first full season in the minors, Moss was named to the All-Midwest team and was also the South Atlantic League Player of the Month for August.

Overall, Moss hit .287/.384/.457 with 13 home runs, 89 RBI, and 17 stolen bases.

A first-base only, right-handed prospect, Moss has put up solid contact rates at every stop so far in his career.

Moss is a great story to follow, only getting two scholarship offers out of high school, before heading to DII St. Leo, a private Catholic school.

His profile puts a lot of pressure on his bat, which should get the ultimate test at Double-A this upcoming year. He’s more hit tool than pure raw power, and the Pirates helped him make adjustments to post his highest line-drive rate of any minor league stop previously.

Altoona will be telling of just what his ceiling might be, which he’ll likely begin there in 2026.
